With just four weeks until Christmas and with very little to do as we are in lockdown, surely, it’s time to start Christmas shopping? Who knows if the shops will reopen and if they do, who knows how long you will have to queue out in the cold to get inside. I am super impatient, so I am taking this opportunity to get organised, shop from my sofa, think of gifts I think people really appreciate and support the independent businesses that need us so much right now. I am also mindful of sustainability and I’m keen to support as many eco-brands as I can.
Here are a few of my favourite companies that I feel offer beautiful thoughtful gifts
They offer a beautiful selection of sustainable luxury gifts for all the family and your home. I have treated myself to many bits from Cat's shop and it is great for presents and cards. She is producing a beautiful range of gift boxes at the moment which are proving very successful.
Kate was my next-door neighbour for 14 years and she is the most kind and creative person I know. She offers handmade kits which make beautiful gifts for anyone who likes to do anything with their hands. My daughter and I have enjoyed many hours together creating with her beautiful kits.
They are another local eco-brand. Jo creates her beauty products from home. They are all made of natural ingredients and have won many beauty awards. I particularly love her range of Soaps and her hand cream is the best I’ve ever used. This year she even developed her own anti-bacterial spray which smells amazing.
This is a company I discovered on Instagram and I love their brand. They have stylish decorations and partyware, but also have some beautiful gifts for all ages. I highly recommend a look at their website.
Again, I have known Cathy for a while and she is passionate about her business. She is also such a positive person to be around. She is another eco-brand, selling gorgeous candles and diffusers. She offers beautiful ranges at great prices.
Now, who doesn’t love a cocktail? Men are particularly difficult to buy for. Yet, they have created a box with everything you need to make your own cocktails. What man wouldn’t love to play Tom Cruise for the evening and make some delicious cocktails!
7. Salt tribe
Another new find is Salt Tribe, selling some beautiful sustainable gifts, but they also sell eco-dog toys and treats. I have just put my order in for an octopus for my dog and can’t wait to receive it.
This is another brand I discovered this year and I love the prints and gifts. We a bought Paris item to remember my lovely father-in-law who lived there and we had shared many happy memories. The print makes me smile every time I see it and I have seen these in teenagers’ rooms with their uni destinations. A great gift for all ages.
Another personal recommendation is Living Room Plants. I am a huge house plant fan and John has such a great eye and a gorgeous selection. He now posts nationally and I couldn’t think of a nicer gift to receive this Christmas.
With everything that has happened this year, it's become more important that we shop locally and also support more sustainable businesses. I hope you found this blog useful and some amazing businesses to shop at for Christmas.
Have an amazing Christmas!
